CBD oil is one of the many forms cannabidiol takes in order to be offered for sale. It is also the most frequently consumed, alongside CBD e-liquid for electronic cigarettes. Produced from a hemp plant with a high cannabidiol content, it is made by mixing CBD crystals and oils of plant origin. To this mixture, manufacturers add terpenes in order to refine the taste. However, there are different CBD extraction processes, not all offering the same level of quality.
CBD oil can be consumed orally (by mixing it with a liquid or food, which helps reduce the intensity of the taste) or sublingually (by placing a few drops under the tongue: this is the most precise method since a dropper helps to carefully control the amount of oil ingested). It is the product that generates the fastest effects, these beginning to be felt approximately ten minutes after absorption.
As a reminder, cannabidiol is one of the many active substances in the hemp plant, also called “cannabinoids”. Alongside THC (cannabis), it is the most abundant molecule in this plant. But, unlike it, it does not have psychotropic properties and does not make you “high”. In short, CBD produces effects similar to those of THC, minus the disadvantages... and plus legality. Because, remember, THC remains strictly prohibited in France.
What are the benefits of CBD oil?
Initially, CBD was perceived by consumers as a sort of “light cannabis” and legal, a confusion maintained by many unscrupulous resellers. Over time, however, cannabidiol has gradually become known for its therapeutic virtues, in other words for its ability to combat multiple ailments. So today, we consume CBD oil for...
- Reduce anxiety and stress,
- Reduce pain due to chronic illnesses (multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, etc.),
- Fight against inflammation and chronic inflammatory syndromes (ankylosing spondylitis, irritable bowel, etc.),
- CBD Sleep to improve the quality of sleep,
- Stop smoking (tobacco or cannabis)
Ongoing studies tend to demonstrate the positive effects of CBD oil on other conditions, such as acne, diabetes or epilepsy. But be careful: you must keep in mind that cannabidiol, regardless of the form in which it is consumed, is not a medicine. It only acts on the symptoms and does not cure. It is also prohibited in France to qualify it as such and to promote its therapeutic virtues for marketing purposes.
The advantage of CBD oil, in addition to its benefits and effectiveness, lies in the fact that it does not cause psychoactive effects or side effects, and its consumption does not represent any danger to health.
